  1. If your older slider has been feed live feed then he will try to eat the smaller one. I would keep them separated for at least 6 months or until the other ones shell is hardened.

  2. Putting two turtles of an aggressive species is a bad idea unless there is enough room, good hiding places, etc. Raising them together does not guarantee anything in this- there is very little loyalty like that in turtles.

You are going to need a BIG tank- about 150+ gallons to give the baby room to run away and hide.

    Try http;//www.redearslider.com

  3. I'm pretty sure the older one would bully the smaller one.  So no, it's probably not a good idea to put them together.

  4. I have had my 2 slider  girls for 36 yrs. Plus an 8 and 5 yr old and now a 2 yr old adopted from this site.. Been in a pond for almost 7 yrs now.

AS long as you have plenty of room and fish to eat they will be fine.!!

BUT if the tank is too small and not enough to eat then the little one would be killed. They are very social anim, als as you can see by my pictures but if not enough room and food.....

  5. It depends. They may get along, but probably not. It probably won't "eat" it but it will probably kill it or stress it to the point of death. I think the size difference is the biggest issue, not necessarily the fact that they did not grow up together. Is it in a pond? You would need a huge tank for three RES
