Turtles eat what ???? please help?

im getting a baby mississippi map turtle and i wanna no what i should buy it for food as i dont have a clue not really (PLEASE LIST IT IF YOU CAN)

Sliders , cooters,maps,yellow bellied and painted all require the same care..and basic same characterisitics.

I have had two for 36 yrs now plus a 8 yr old and a 5 yr old..

I have had them in a 150gal pond for about 6 yrs now..

**Here is some important .

Get feeder guppies minows or small feeder goldfish, frozen brown worms ..even meal worms.

Dried or frozen tubiflex worms..

all leafy green lettuce, romaine and butter NO cabbage or iceberg,K its not good for the.lettuce.

if u r getting a pet u should read and look up online everything u can about it cause it is way better and easier!

i dunno about the turtle u have but i used to have terrapins and they ate turtle food + fish, little goldfish dead or alive. i know that is sad and i would not be able to let the fish die for the turtle but i saw it in the pet shop!

if you have no idea what they eat you need to do some research on the turtles before you buy one.  it is very irresponsible to buy an animal and not know how to take care of it.  chances are if you dont know what they eat you probably dont know what kind of living envronment they need and all that.

I have alot of experience with mississippi map turtles.  Their favorite food are  crickets.  They also enjoy mealworms.  Its important to also feed them turtle pellets that have high sources of calcium and vitamin a.

Mississippi maps are very prone to getting sick if their water is dirty.  Make sure to frequently change their water.  you also may want to have a container just for feeding.  these little guys make a huge mess while they eat so with a seperate feeding tank it cuts down on waste in the aquarium.
