Tutor/School question?

If you hire a tutor out of school for a subject you personally do not study in school can you sit the exam out of school and get the degree?

By "get the degree" do you mean an actual high school diploma or a college degree?  If you have one course left to earn your diploma or degree, ask the counselor in your school if you may take the final exam by having a tutor only for the course.  They probably will say "no" but you have to ask.  If the course is for one you failed, you'll still need to ask the proper school person if you may take the final exam and receive credit.  If you did well in the opinion of your tutor, have him/her write a note of that effect or go with you to the school.  A personal visit will do much better that phone calls.
