  1. If you live in an urban area $25-$30 an hour.  Especially if you are a teacher or a college student who is a math major who is tutoring in math.  If you live in a rural area where incomes may not be as high I would charge 15-20 an hour.

  2. I am not sure if the post above is accurate.  a college student without a degree charges someone $25-30/hr?  If you charge someone $25, they probably go elsewhere.  Most part-time jobs don't even pay $10/hr.  If I were you, I wouldn't go beyond $10-15/hr.

    Most colleges don't even pay (non-research) instructors $50K/yr, that's ~$25/hr.

  3. You ask an excellent question, and let me begin by saying it depends.  If you are still a student yourself, say in high school, you should be able to earn at least $10 per hour.  However, if you are a college graduate and a certified teacher, your beginning rate should be around $25 per hour.  Experienced tutors in highly difficult subject areas can charge $50, or $75, or in some cases even $150 per hour!  You of course need to be an expert in a difficult subject area  to earn those big bucks.
