Tv, cable box and amp....?

Question

How do you connect the DVD player to the amp, which is connected to the comcast cable box? Too many wires are confusing.

Is it an amp or receiver?

I don't know that many amps that you connect to a tv.  If it is a receiver then look for a red and white cylinder that sticks out about 1/4 inch.  The label should read audio in and it should state a channel as well (ie dvd, audio 1, audio 2).  There should be a audio out on your dvd player that is also red and white.  You will need an av cable (red white male cable) to connect the two components together.  Change the channel to the corresponding label on the back of your reciever.
