Tv and static trouble?

i turned on my tv and there is static and picture with static sound. i already reset the box and the picture is still not stored. the weather is fine and all the ohter tv's and boxes in the house are just fine. i have direct tv. when i reset the box the screen says the usual but with static in the picture. ANY HELP!! I need a quick fix.

If the static appears in narrow horizontal stripes, it is possible that it is RF interference.  Flipping light switches will sometimes cause this for a brief flash.  Anything in the vicinity that produces an arc can do this.  This includes electric motors.  Is there a fan on nearby?  Blender?  Dishwasher?

disconnect the box and exchange it put one of the other boxes u have that u know works on the tv see what happens that way u will know if its the box or the tv

If your other TV sets and boxes are fine, then it eliminates the dish antennae or the cable from the dish to your boxes as the problem. It is either the converter box or the actual set itself which is the problem. Check where the cable goes into the back of your static-ridden set on both ends. Make sure it is screwed in tightly and not loose. If that doesn't work, then it could be the converter box. Check the cable going from the dish to the box and see if that is loose on both ends. It that isn't it then you need to call a technician. They will have to replace the box. You can also try swapping TV sets to see if it is an internal problem with the TV set.

Change your co-ax connector with one from another unit and see if it fixes the problemo

Most problems like this are coaxial cable related. Try swapping your cable between the box and tv with a known good cable. Next try a known good tv. Next swap that box with a known good box. Next swap the cable from the antenna to the box with a know good one. Etc...

Process of elimination. You will find your problem.
