  1. re check instructions, connect the phone plugs correctly.

the one I got did not work with the (dead) battery they included for the remote control.

I have to push rather hard on its buttons to make it work.  on mine red light means it is turned off, blue is on.

  2. We got a converter box and the antenna signal was very weak. We ended up getting a new antenna and it still didn't work even though we live very close to Houston where most of the towers are. We might be able to get it if we had an outdoor antenna but we have four TVs in the house so we will end up having to get DirecTV or something.

But if you want a good antenna signal you will probably have to invest in an outdoor antenna or give in to paid television.

  3. My experience with my Converter Box has been that the signal strength for a Digital Signal has to be better than 60 to 65% to get a decent signal.  The picture will either be there or not.  My antenna is a 8 Bay Twin Bow Tie antenna with a UHF pre-amp mounted on a pole around 25 ft. on a rotator.  The stations are 75 miles away and I get most of the original 2-13 channels on DTV and then some, which are now on UHF frequencies.
