  1. however long they want  like 9 am to 11 am, then after naptime till supper  but they play alot and run around outside so it's not like they are stuffing their face and watching tv

  2. my children watch videos from the time they get home from daycare and school till supper usual max 1h......and after supper its homework and crafts, bedtime routine.....but the most important is not the amount of tv they watch is the amount of physical activity they get....they may watch 3 hours a day but they play all afternoon outside...its a balance thing....

  3. Okay my kids are 5 and 3 and they have a tv in there playroom.  Yes the tv is on, but only to childrens tv shows, like dora, diego, sesame street and such.

But to be honest, my kids want to play more than watch tv, its basically just noise in the back ground and half of the time, they turn it off.

I can go in there on any given time and they are in the middle of the room playing barbies, or reading a book and so on, ignoring the tv.

Now if its nice outside, there butts are outside more than inside anyways.

  4. My boys have some sort of cartoon or movie on most of the day. But, just because it's on doesn't mean it's being actively watched. They often play while it's on, and will just look up from time-to-time, or watch a few min at a time. Rarely will they watch an entire episode of anything without getting up to play.

TV does NOT cause childhood obesity. Lack of parental interaction, lack of exercise, and improper diet do.

  5. As much as they like, as long as they are playing an equal amount of the time......Television, contrary to popular belief, does not cause childhood obesity.........Parents cause it, by not making their children get off of their hineys and play outside.

My kids watch a lot of television.  They LOVE watching Lazytown, the Wiggles, etc........ALL of which, they get up and dance to........Dora and Diego are the same way.  SO even while they are watching, they are being active.

I watched a ton of tv growing up also.......but I also played outside......My brother's and I also grew up on processed foods.........NONE of us are even close to being obese.......

My kids are NOWHERE near being obese either, they are both actually small for their ages.......

Activity and diet are the key.........Lazy parenting causes obesity........Objects can't CAUSE anything.

  6. well I am not a mother but i am the oldest of 5 kids and i thing from 9am  to nap time is okay!

  7. 2 hours

  8. Aww those shows are cute. My niece watches it off and on while she plays. I don't get why parents make such a big deal out of kids and TV. Most young children have too much energy to sit through it anyway, and just because they watch Tv doesn't mean they can't excersize! Lol. And not everything has to be filtered. You should educate kids and do it in a positive manner, but you can't filter the world..sadly. Person above me is giving inot a myth of society. Everyone says that, and it isn't true. Ecspecially if they are in school and take PE or gym.

  9. No child should watch more than an hour of television per day.  Even if the TV shows are nice and age-appropriate, too much television viewing leads to childhood obesity.

  10. Maybe an hour or two per week.

  11. none spice channel is the only channel we get clear here in the mountains
