Tv input converter for a computer? (to attach a play station 2 to a computer)

okay so is there such thing as a wire/device that you could attach to your computer/monitor that acts like the input signals for a tv?

i'm asking because i want to attach my play station 2 to my computer/monitor, and i was wondering if there's some sort of converter that lets me do this.

You can buy whats called a "Video Capture Card" one that has RCA inputs and that would allow you to hook up your console to the back of your computer and view it on your monitor/record your gameplay example - thats how Halo 2 montages were usually made
