Tv screen was on its side and now it's green?

Question

I was giving my boyfriend an old TV that was my uncle's. It was left upright for awhile but when my mom put it in the car, she put it in on its side. We drove to his job (no more than 5 minutes) and my boyfriend said that when a TV is on its side for awhile it turns green. So we turned it upright and when we got to his house, he put it in his room. I talked to him five minutes ago and when he hooked it up, apparently the TV is green and he says it's not useable and it won't ever turn back. I told him it wasn't more than 5 minutes on its side and he's like, "even 30 seconds can ruin the TV"

I don't get this at all. I haven't heard that and I don't know what he's talking about. Can someone explain it? Help me fix the TV? suggestions? thank you so much,

one time my tv fell a couple feet and everything was purple

all i did was unplug it then plug it back in

The TV could be near a magnetic source which changes the colors on the screen. Try moving the TV, unplugging it for a while, and plugging back in and see what happens.

Transporting a CTV on its side or even upside down does not normally  cause a green pic !!If the pic is green all over then you have lost blue and red , if the pic is only part green like a patch then probably magnetised . Any way switch set off at wall and leave off for 20 minits then switch on again ! if magnetised it will now be a lot better ,you may need to do that 2 or three times to get best results . That is about all you can do without calling a TV Tech.
