  1. Yes, he died heroically in Tuesday's episode.


  2. According to the writer's blog, Ed Quinn was only under contract for 5 episodes for Season 3, so he left the show.

    As they say, "It's Eureka", so anything can happen, but there are currently no plans for Quinn to return to the show.
