Twelve Indian cricketers to feature in inaugural Sri Lankan Premier League
Twelve players from the Indian side have given their consent to perform in the first edition of the Sri Lankan Premier league, starting on July 19, 2011.
According to an Indian television channel, the players include Munaf Patel, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Valthaty-c2170 and Vinay Kumar.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Cricket (SLC) is also considering inviting some eminent overseas cricketers like Chris Gayle, Daniel Vettori and Kieron Pollard.
However, they are currently busy in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Thus their approval is still pending until the end of the league.

The 12 Indians who are expected to perform in the first season of the Sri Lankan Premier League are currently engaged with the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League.
India had a wonderful World Cup recently, they came out victorious after beating Sri Lanka in the final at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.

After the great success of IPL, Sri Lanka decided to launch another Twenty20 league called the Sri Lankan Premier league, starting from July 2011.
This upcoming league will be broadcasted by a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Singapore-c3005 based company called Somerset Entertainment. The Sri Lankan Premier league is not offering huge salaries like IPL. However their highest salary would be $30,000.
Sri Lanka Cricket has high hopes from this new project and they expect that it will give more boon to the shortest format of cricket.
