    Any one of 12 can win

    Any of of the 11 left can be second

    12x11=132

  2. It going to be 132. because the first position can be held by 12 different people, then the second position can be held by 11 different people 11X12=132. Another way to look at it is there are 12 people, and 12 positions so 12X12=144 but since there can be no ties you must subtract 12 because if a person in in first they cannot be in second. 144-12=132.

    12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1

    sense u want to know the first 2 places, where none can repeat, its 12 x 11 = 132

    if u wanted to know first, second, and third place, its 12 x 11 x 10 = 1320
