Twice Over leads market for Sefton Stakes
Twice Over holds the highest odds in the betting market for the high-profile race of Weatherbys Earl Of Sefton Stakes (Group 3) that is going to take place at Newmarket track on Thursday, April 19.
The Class 1 contest over a distance of 1 mile and 1 furlong is scheduled to start at 4:45 (GMT). The prize purse contains £31,191.
Twice Over is well-equipped with capabilities and confidence to compete against 9 rivals including Tazahum, Ransom Note, Prince Siegfried, Beatrice Aurore, Afsare, Questioning, Penitent, Titus Mills and Albaqaa.
The Sir Henry Cecil-trained bay and brown horse owns a terrific track record. His career is marked with sheer consistency and excellent success streaks. Out of his total 29 starts, the brilliant sprinter has won 12.
With a dozen of victories and £2,424,143 of prize money to his name, the seven-year-old veteran runner poses to be the strongest contender for Sefton Stakes title.
The year 2011 showered some iconic feats on him. After winning a race on March 3, he went ahead to bag a couple of consecutive victories during July-August.
Overall, he has been a consistent performer and regular winning since making his debut in October 2007. The maverick horse won all the first three races of his career in a row.
At the moment, Twice Over is carrying immense momentum which will help him make a big impact in coming contest. The hot favourite horse’s chances to finish first are as high as 95 percent.
However, some of his competitors like Penitent and Prince Siegfried can give the horse fairly tough time on the track.
Penitent is on a hat-trick. The David O’Meara-trained bay gelding accomplished two triumphs in a row each in September 2011 and April 2012. Overall, he has won 6 out of his total 17 starts to date, earning £164,142 as prize money.
Prince Siegfried also possesses an epic track record. Saeed Bin Suroor’s bay gelding won two consecutive races during July-August 2011. He went ahead to finish 5th in his last outing on September 21.
In this situation, there is likely to be a tough tug of war at Newmarket. Let us see how Twice Over justifies his favourite tag. Good luck to all the runners.
