Twilight 'teams'? so confused?

Okay, please don't tell me what happens, but i'm really confused with the whole team edward and team jacob thing. I'm page 289 in eclipse, and nothing about 'teams' has come up. doesn't it happen in eclipse or breaking dawn?

"Team Jacob" and "Team Edward" are not anything that Stephanie Meyer has come up with or included in her series. It's simply something the fans say. If you want Bella to be with Jacob, you're Team Jacob, and if you wish Bella to stay with Edward, you are Team Edward.

It could also simply mean you like Jacob better than Edward, or vice-versa.

It has nothing to do with the actual book, but its who people like more in the book, edward cullen or jacob black, im team edward. :).
