Twilight people is it just me or is this what Edward is really saying...?

okay, so you know how Edward believes that vampires don't have souls and they are evil and lose they're souls when they are changed? well, he is also always comparing himself and Bella as the lion and the lamb where he is the lion and she is the lamb or he is the eagle and she is the dove and bla bla bla....isn't that kind of implying that lions and sharks and eagles don't have souls either...? think about it...they probably evolved from house cats, minnows, and doves just like vampires did from humans!...slower...but still...

idk maybe its just me. what do you think?

Wow, I never would have thought of that. That's digging very deep. Maybe a little too deep, in my opinion.. I don't think he was purposely making a connection but I could be wrong. Besides, how would that affect the story anyways...?

Huh. Well, no, actually, that doesn't mean lions and eagles and sharks (etc. etc.) don't have souls, I think. All he means by that is how he feels he is dangerous and feels like a monster or animal. The suggestion that he is soulless, however, doesn't relate to his simile to lions, eagles, or sharks. This is just my opinion though, I hope this helps!

I got your point but I don't really think that he mean that. I think he was more kind of talking about the power,the strength,about how she could be his dinner you know.In nature the stronger animal eat the weak one so he was just making his own point.Besides nobody for sure knows of the existence of the soul because no one has return from death to talk about it.Sorry if it bothers you .......it is just my opinion.In what I do believe is that people need to have something to believe in so live don't get so depressing knowing that when you died it just end.

i think that ur reading too much into this. if stephenie ment for edward to imply this it would hav practically hit u in the face as u read it or it would hav been on her site or a fan site or something but lik i often do (so i dont blame u) i think ur reading to much into it and stretching too far

He is not implying that those animals don't have souls, he is refering to himself as the lion, fierce.. a predator. And Bella the lamb, innocent and weak.

That's not what he meant...Edward says he is like the lion and Bella is like the lamb because he is a danger to her, just as a ferocious lion can easily kill a vulnerable lamb. There is nothing about those animals being soulless or evil...

no when he was saying about the lion and the lamb he was comparing this is a world where they could create a lion and a cute little lamb. He was just saying how delicate bella is and how bad he could be for her bc you know a lion could eat a lamb. just like a vampire could eat or suck the blood out of a human.
