Twin Bud to make the most out of the fourth chance at Plumpton through the Create Food And Party Design Handicap Hurdle
Plumpton will host the Class 4 Create Food And Party Design Handicap Hurdle over two miles and five furlongs on Friday, 28th April. The race that carries the £2,669 purse has attracted a line-up of nine four-year and older thoroughbreds.
Twin Bud and It Wasn’t Us are the two most experienced entries for the race.
Twin Bud, Double Trigger’s seven-year-old bay mare out of mare, Little Bud, has raced at Plumpton thrice out of the four races that came her way at the start of the new season.
She cracked into the season on 12th January in the Blue Square Staying Novices’ Hurdle (Series Qualifier) at Fontwell over two miles and six and a half furlong. He finished fifth before the 9/4 favourite of the race, Makethe Mostofnow.
The winner of the race was What Er Say while finishing the closest to the winner was Bold Chief.
All the three starts that followed were at Plumpton.
Twin Bud was third in the Attheraces.Com Exclusive Hugh Taylor Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle over three miles and one and a half furlong on 30th January.
Storm Survivor was the 2/1 favourite winner coupled with Maurice Linehan and the two led the runner up, The Red Laird, by seven lengths.
Twin Bud’s third outing of the season was in the Cheltenham Preview On 9th March Mares’ Handicap Hurdle on 27th February over two miles and five furlongs at Plumpton.
This time her ranking was driven down to the seventh position behind the winner, Schism. Settling second behind the winner was Marie Deja La and taking up the third slot behind the winner was the 4/1 favoruite of the race, Matrow’s Lady.
Her third try at the same race course had her swinging back into form as she raced across the wire third in the Totequadpot Handicap Hurdle on 9th April over two miles and five furlongs.
Taking away the title was Sircozy while the 5/2 favourite of the race, Marie Deja La, came second.
During all the three races, Twin Bud was coupled with different jockeys however today when she is going to race for the fourth straight time at Plumpton, Tom Messenger will accompany her for the second time.
