Twin girls and boys???

if a set of identical twin girls marry a set of identical twin boys and they both have kids at the same time will their kids be identical too???

  1. hahahaha...  i've never thought about that!  i have identical boys and it's true that they look slightly different.  They have the same DNA but certain traits can come out stronger or weaker.  Also there are sooooo many possible combinations of traits, dominant and recessive, that the possibiliy of this happening is just not a possibility!  Just think if this was how it worked then all of us would be born looking exactly like our siblings!!!


  2. No, it doesn't work that way.  Within each person is the potential for thousands and thousands of genetic variations.  The chances of both couples producing the same one is practically zero.

    Also, ID twins are not completely identical.  After the egg splits there is the potential for slight variations.

  3. No. Identical twins are not hereditary. Identical twins are spontaneous, and the result of a single fertilized egg splitting. Fraternal twins, however, resulting from the release of more than ripe egg being fertilized can be hereditary.
