Twinheaded Behemoth Effect?

I am wondering when twin headed behemoth is used as a tribute, does the effect work and return to the field? does it still count as getting "destroyed"? When it comes back, does it go into atk or defense or it is your choice?

Twin-Headed Behemoth's effect specifically states that if it gets destroyed, whether by a card effect or by battle, it will gain it's effect, however, if it is used as a tribute for a Tribute Summon or for a card effect, it will not gain it's effect, A Monster getting destroyed is different from a Monster being used a tribute.

no. and this is something i found out today during a tourney. i tried to do the same thing with sand moth. being tributed and getting destroyed is  two different things. now when you bring it back you can choose its battle position
