  1. My twin sister and I were adopted at age 9.

As far as I can tell, our Adoptive parents treated us just the same as their two older [brother by 12 years and sister by 8] biological kids, though my older sister says we were treated with greater leniency - I don't know about that.

When we were in our 20s, we hired an investigator and tracked down our birth mother in Wales. We visited her together once, and she was glad to see us - we've stayed in touch somewhat until she died, but never had the slightest inclination of living with or near to her or even spending much time in the area where she was raised and lived. She claimed our father was a soldier who died, but who knows? I must confess that her death really didn't shake me or my sister much at all.

My sister died unexpectedly 5 years ago. It was devastating for our entire family. I watched my [adoptive] parents grow old in the space of a few days and I don't think our mother ever got over it. When Mother died about 15 months ago, I really felt like I lost my real mother.

Dad is okay. My older brother and sister are close enough and we talk frequently. I miss my twin sister every day, and my adoptive mother probably just as much.

    Hope this answers your question.

  2. I am adopted and a parent of twins.  I have had 4 twin pregnancies.

Sealed records prevent me from confirming that this runs on the maternal side of my family, but I'm pretty sure it does.   I may even be a twin myself

My girls deserve to know this basic information about their heredity, sigh

  3. I am a twin but I wasn't adopted so I don't know.

  4. I am an twin and the daughter of an adoptee.

The negative affect for me has been not having family medical history.

Hubby and I consider the adoption we are in the process of a positive, because it realizes our dream of being parents.
