David Scott Jaffe complimented Danger Close’s work on the Medal of Honor single player campaign and at the same time slammed Activision’s Call of Duty series, albeit, indirectly.
If anyone has played a God of War or Twisted Metal game anytime in their lives then they are familiar with David Scott Jaffe’s work. Both series were his creations and although he no longer develops the God of War series, if it was not for him, no one would
know of a certain vengeance seeking gaming icon by the name of Kratos.
One of the most outspoken members of the video game industry, Jaffe never holds back on what is on his mind and his use of strong language over the years emphasizes just how strongly he feels about certain matters.
He recently stated in an interview that he would not give a sh*t about next generation consoles if they did not change the way developers could use the technology to provide new experiences.
Jaffe is also very active on his Twitter account, where he sets up matches with gamers, takes feedback and announces any updates relating to his latest game, Twisted Metal.
However, sometime yesterday, he tweeted praise for Danger Close’s single player campaign, claiming that it was more visceral. He compared the game, in a rather cheeky fashion, to the Call of Duty games’ single player campaign indirectly.
His tweet read, “@KevinBahar @medalofhonor I really loved the last MOH single player. Felt more like a gritty war story vs. set piece after set piece.”
The second part of that comparison was an obvious criticism of how many consider the Call of Duty games to have single player campaigns that are nothing more than a series of set pieces.
It seemed that the team working away at Medal of Honor: Warfighter appreciated the praise and replied to Jaffe and in the process decided to hype the game a bit more.
“@davidscottjaffe Glad to hear you enjoyed the campaign! Getting excited for Medal of Honor Warfighter?”
However, Danger Close ought to know that Jaffe is not easily pleased, which makes the compliment on Medal of Honor an achievement and raises expectations of the sequel, Warfighter.
