Twisted Metal release delayed until 2012
Twisted Metal, which was scheduled to release before the end of the year, is now being delayed until early 2012.
At the moment, the only reason that is being given, as to why the game is being pushed back, goes along these lines: “polish our demented baby until it shines”
However, as it stands, Twisted Metal which was scheduled for an October release in 2011, isn’t the only game to be pushed back. The Darkness II, which was also set to be coming out around the time that Twisted Metal was going to be released, has also been
delayed inexplicably.
According to Eat Sleep Play’s co-founder David Jaffe, who posted on the PlayStation Blog, commenting on the delay of the upcoming game, the game isn’t coming out as it was previously expected to, mainly because the team just isn’t ready yet.
Jaffe is quoted to have said, “…but the truth is: we’re just not ready yet.”
He then went on to add that this added time that the team is going to take, in order to tweak the game, is not only going to help them meet their targets, but it’s also going to help them fine tune it better than they initially could have.
Meanwhile, another major reason that could be associated with the game’s delay is because a number of massive games are set to come out during the same time frame. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Resistance 3 are just some of the games that are set to
release before the year ends.
It isn’t hard to believe that the team felt with all the upcoming competition, it would be better to delay the release of the game. Mainly because, not only would it help the team achieve much better sales, but because it would help them target a much wider
audience.
Gamers who have not yet experienced the world of Twisted Metal, if given the option to purchase Resistance or Uncharted, would jump to the latter, mainly because they have created a much bigger hype on next-gen consoles.
Twisted Metal, is going to make its debut on the current gen of consoles, after previously winning millions over on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox. The game revolves around a group of racers, who have modified their cars and fitted them with countless guns,
bombs and missiles. The main objective, the one that one ends up resorting to, involves you blowing up your opponents, as you make your way to the finish line.
