I was on the beach playing rugby, when I fall under my ankle, all twisted. It has happened a huge click on my bone.

I could move my feet, despite the pain. I left the beach walking and a put ice immediately. It was swollen and with great pain.

In the other day it was not better and I was to the masseur. After that it was a little better. But now, 3 days latter, it is getting worse again. What should I do?

  1. go to doctor.

  2. I currently have a broken ankle, and as a cheerleader I know injuries. If it's swelling, that definitely means it's either sprained or broken. When I sprain my ankle and it swells, sometimes it cracks, but it's just a joint. Get some ice and keep it up so the swelling will go down. If the swelling is a large area, like your whole ankle, part of your calf, and the top of your foot, that's all the tissues going to surround the broken bone or whatever is in there, and keep it from moving. If the swelling doesn't go away, see a doctor. If you can walk on it without there being pain, it's most likely not a break and just a sprain. I broke mine on Saturday, and my ankle, foot, and leg are still swollen. Go see a doctor if it continues hurting. Hope this helps!!

  3. You need to stay off the ankle as much as possible and let it heal. You can wrap it with an ace wrap, this will help with the swelling and keep the ankle more stable. Continue to use the ice pak, this will help with swelling. You can also use Ibuprofen for the pain and swelling.
