Two Cats.....totally different needs.......

Question

I have two brown/grey tabby cats Bob,5 and Harlow,1 1/2. Before we had got Harlow in March, they were at healthy weight. But Harlow started to eat quite a bit, and she is slightly overweight. But Bob, who has been eating less, has become underweight. There is plenty of food for both of them. Not like Harlow is eating all of his food. I had switched their food to Iams Multicat. But it seemed to have an opposite effect on them. Harlow is gaining, Bob is losing. Should I wait to see if it improves? Thank you for any help.

Yes, I would wait.  Stop and consider humans.......2 people can eat the same amount of food with 1 gaining and 1 losing...they say it's just a matter of metabolism.

you are wrong. they both need the same thing. Food appropriate for the species and that means NO kitty crack.

Contrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.

Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingrdiant a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?

You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all.    The best food for cats does not contain any grains at all.

Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies  whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food.
