Right......I have the same situation. We had a male cockatiel for about 6 months. He was ok and fairly friendly, but we felt he was lonely so we found him a companion. She is female (we thought she was male) and very friendly in the store environment...handfed. Although they tried to mate in the beginning...or HE tried, they have settled down and seem more like good buddies now. They groom each other and always want to be together.....very sweet. Since aquiring her, he has become much more docile and friendly (he is happier) but she is very untrusting and always tries to bite. I would like for her to be friendlier but don't know what to do. She watches him take millet from my hand, but seems terribly scared even though I talk to them and feed them and offer them lots of interaction. Would love to hear any advice.
