Two English teams to play in West Indian T20 Cup
The Caribbean T20 Cup that will be played in January next year will see participation from the winners and the runner-up of the T20 Cup from England, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 and Somerset.
The two teams will be compensated for their costs associated with the tournament and will also be afforded some participation money. Earlier, the two teams were to play in the Champions League T20 this year,
but a scheduling clash with the Indian cricket board over the dates of the tournament had pushed them out of the tournament.
According to the chief executive of Somerset, Richard Gould, it's a good resolution.
"It is beneficial to us, not on the scale of the Champions League unfortunately but it's a meaningful competition.”
He also added that given its importance the side will look to call back http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045.
Gould also announced that while all English international players will participate in the tournament if they were not representing the English team, it is unlikely that the side will see the presence of Marcus
Trescothick. Trescothick suffers from a mental illness through which he ends up being home-sick when in another country.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Captain-Gould-c41006 said that they were glad to be a part of international tournaments like this and gladder with their performances in such tournaments. He said, "It will be the second international tournament we have
played in two years after the Champions League and we'll be going out to do extremely well,"
Even the Hampshire chairman, Hampshire chairman was delighted at being invited and said, "The Caribbean T20 tournament is a great opportunity for the Hampshire squad to reconvene and play some high-quality
cricket over the winter months. I'm sure it will be a very enjoyable fortnight for everyone involved."
The Caribbean T20 will be played from 10 to 23 January.
