Two Guinea Pig Questions?

Question

They are useful in nutrition science because Guinea Pigs are the only mammals apart from primates that can't syntesize their own vitamin C and must obtain same from their food.

Science also employs them in anaphyactic shock studies.

But who uses 65 million of them each year and for what?
