I was putting a new speaker in and the two wires on the cars end touched each other, now theres no sound coming from the wire. I doubt its a problem with the speaker because I tried two other speakers on the wires and they dont work either. Whats wrong with the wires, is it a fuse? How do I fix this?

  1. You were replacing a speaker with the power on????

The short circuit probably blew a fuse. Check them first. If the fuses are good you probably killed the output side of the amp. It may still power on if the input power side is still okay.

There are only 2 ways to fix this. Repair the amp or replace it.

One thing to remember... ALWAYS disconnect the ground from the battery and any capacitors when you are working on the system. What is more of a pain in the ***, resetting the clock on the head unit or replacing the amp?

  2. You probably created a short and blew a fuse, the fuseboard should be located under the steering wheel, above where the pedals are.

  3. Check the fuses under the dash, sometimes under the hood in some cars, also if its an aftermarket radio, look for an inline fuse behind the radio
