i have a really serious problem. Okay, i found out i was pregnant a couple of weeks back. I seen my ob/gyn when I was 6 week. He barely saw one fetus in one sac and the other one was empty. So he scheduled me to have another us when i was 7 weeks( he figured it was too early). I just got back from that us and we saw the same thing I even got to hear the heartbeat, but unfortunately the other sac was still empty. But the crazy thing is, it was still growing more than the other sac! Help me please if anybody knows what is happening to me give me some advice.

  1. you probably have a blighted ovum.  which means the sac and placenta are growing but without a baby.  So I gather you got pregnant with twins and one baby did not develop.  You either may miscarry that sac or it may reabsorbed back into your body.  They call this the vanishing twin syndrome.

  2. I had this when i went for a scan at 10 weeks in 2006 - There were 2 fully formed sacs but only one baby. I had another scan at 16 weeks and everything was fine had another at 20 & 38 weeks and everything was fine, i had a healthy little girl in November 06. The ob/gyn couldn't really explain to me why this happens. But try not to worry, i kept looking this condition up on the net (which is the worst thing to do as i worried myself sick!) Good Luck
