  1. 1st car = 72 km/h

    1hour = 60 min

    20 min = 72/60 x 20

               = 24 km (answer)

    2nd car = 78km/h

    1hour = 60 min

    20 min  = 78/60 x 20

                = 26 km (answer)

  2. I'm American so metric isn't my thing try miles per hour.

  3. Every hour the two cars are separated by another 6 KM. Car 1 will travel 24 KM in the 20 minutes. So when car 2 is 24 KM ahead of car 1 that will be the distance travelled. 24 KM ahead divided 6 KM per hour will give you 4 hours. So car 2 travelled 4 hours at 78 KM/HR for a total of 312 KM and car 1 travelled 4-1/3 hours at 72 KM/HR for a total of 312 KM
