  1. Apparently not

  2. I doubt that both zip codes are valid.  Probably one is being phased out and replaced by the other.  That or perhaps your friend has a street address, with a zip code for UPS/Fedex deliveries, but their mail actually goes to a Post Office Box, and the P.O. Box has a different zipcode than the street address does.  In this case, you'd need to use the zipcode that corresponds to the address being used.

I'd look up the address at the Post Office's web page for zipcodes and use whatever zipcode it tells you to:

    http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp

  3. yes.  Warwick, Rhode Island has two different zip codes one part is 02889 and i don't know the other one but the letter will be returned to you if you use the wrong zip code

  4. If you're in the US, one address can't have two zip codes.  When in doubt, go to maps.yahoo.com, put in the street address and city, and see what zip code it gives you.

  5. Do you mean a Zip+4?

You don't have to use the last four digits...but you must use the first 5 numbers.
