Question:

Two female ringneck doves laying eggs?

they have laid two eggs each....1 egg broke...2 have been abandoned by the doves, they are taking turns sitting on the one egg....they seem to be eating very little...how long will this go on...should I seperate them. they were cooing alot and laughing before this and now they are kind of quiet. i thought i had a male and female...i want to hear the gentle cooing and laughing..what should i do

  1. The two that have been abandoned are most likely dead.  The parents realize this, and are focusing on the one that's still viable.  The length of the incubation period to hatching is 14 days, so that's how long it'll be going on for.  They'll eat when they really have to, but their priority right now is caring for the remaining egg.  If these doves are pets, I'd make food and water readily available.  If they're wild, I'd just let them be.
