Two guinea pig questions!?

i have three guinea pigs two boys one pregnant female.

one of the boy guinea pigs always like to bite or nibble on my other two guinea pigs ears!?

why does it do that? is it bad?

other question is why does my pregnant female guinea pig always licks my hands or my skin?? why? is she trying to tell me something?

  1. Seperate the female now! Guinea pigs have this second sac thing inside them, where they can actually carry 2 litters at once.

    If there's no bleeding form his nibbles then it's fine.

    She's probably just being affectionate right now. Also, our skin has salt in it that animals love. My ferrets used to always l**k my skin :)


  2. Your female needs to be in an enclosure of her own.  Males will often kill and/or injure the babies.  Female guinea pigs will become pregnant following the birth if a male is around.  Back to back litters are often fatal.

    Watch the ears for signs of open wounds.

  4. FIRST: SEPARATE THE FEMALE.

    You don't want the babies getting killed, or the female getting pregnant again because that would be very hard on her body, and she could possibly die.

    Unless the boy guinea pig is breaking the skin on your others' ears, then it's most likely affection.

    She's probably just l*****g your skin, because there's salt on you, or she is also showing affection.
