I dunno. All the best amateur wrestlers I've seen are shorter dudes.

  1. I honestly can't tell from that...because it's the weight that matters.

If it's a normal-ish weight, then I'd say the 5'8 one, because the weight would be good for his body and play to his advantage. Whereas if the 6'8 guy had the same weight, it wouldn't be healthy; he'd probably be lanky or too thin or whatever so he'd obviously lose without the substance.

But if it was a high weight, the shorter guy would be too fat to fight, and the taller guy would have a good advantage, especially with his height.

    I guess.

  2. The taller guy because he has a better reach. I mean the shorter guy could probably use his short stature to some advantage, but if they have the same amount of training and conditioning I'd say it's doubtful.

  3. Hard to say without knowing the fighters' experience, especially in an unpredictable sport. But a taller person with a reach advantage can typically dominate the stand-up of the fight, but longer skinny limbs are easier to catch in a submission for the smaller fighter. Whereas the smaller, bulkier fighter will do better on the ground if he can defend the choke. The choke is always worse from someone with skinny limbs who can really sink in a choke. But if I was to bet, the tall fighter would be my selection, saying they are equally experienced.

  4. this is not enough  information most would say the taller person but height doesnt matter who ever has the better fighting\ skills i guess

  5. I think the shorter one, because their center of gravity is closer to the ground, making it more difficult to throw them off. But, the taller guy would have a longer arm/leg span.

    Going with the shorter guy.

  6. the shorter guy of the same weight will be stronger than the taller guy. he will have more muscle on the smaller frame to be able to have the same weight as the taller guy so I go with the short guy.

  7. the lil guy would win when i would see

  8. 6-8

  9. the quicker and smarter man ,,

  10. i imagine you're saying they have the same agility as well and I believe that the 6-8 guy would normally win because of his arm span and long legs resulting in a larger attacking span that the shorter guy would have to get into before attacking the 6-8 guy.

  11. neither. Only matters who the fighters have fought and how well. I hope he is talking about fighting statistics. 5 wins 8 losses. 6 wins 8 losses. The height thing is retarded it has nothing to do with it. David and Goliath. Randy Couture and Tim Sylvia. Plain examples

  12. I say the little guy is the one you have to look out for. Little guys are scrappy.

  13. depends on skill, determination, age etc.

  14. I'm assuming that this is an all-other-things-being-equal question.  I'd say in a point fight, the taller guy because he's going to connect first every time (assuming their speed and timing are the same).  However, in a full contact fight, I'd bet on the shorter guy because it would be like a pit bull shredding a great Dane.

Think about it, if you had a choice of trying to break one of two pine boards of the same weight and one was 15% longer than the other one - which would you pick.  The longer one of course.  The same goes for limbs.

  15. A foot difference is a lot, especially if they go through the same exact training and if they are of the same skill level from this training, the 6'8" guy would win. Just look at Corey Hill. Dude's a 6'4" LIGHTWEIGHT. he just throws people around the ring when they get close and then punches em out.

  16. taller guy

The reason for this is because he will win ground and standing (most likely)
