Question:

Two jobs..which one to work at?

Recently I started working casual at 2 temp jobs.

One is admin in an office setting.. the other picking fruit.

The fruit picking job is very physical but pays more ( am getting 2-3 days/week)..the admin job is usually only 2 days a week, pays less but is teaching me more skills.

I don't work set days at either of them..it's an on call thing.

Now they have both told me ( on Friday) that they might need me for work tomorrow.Neither will ring to confirm until this afternoon.

I don't know which job to go to tomorrow if they both expect me in!

And yes i am applying for full-time ongoing jobs to change the situation.

What can I do, I am stressed out.

Any advice and excuses will be appreciated!

  1. Take the office job as its more relaxing and doesn't put physical demand on you.

  2. I would pick the one that pays more for now and keep looking for something that pays more and is full time,.

  3. Just do the one that calls first and then tell the other one you are not available to work.  That way you are being honest.

  4. i say stick with the office job because it looks better on the resume. then again if it's only for tomorrow go with the fruit picking one.

  5. Heres what I would do, i would pretend i got sick with the flu and say im all better on sunday. very believable, i've done it with school. all the lame teachers go with it.

  6. Definitely take the office job- it will give you skills and experience so that in the future, you'll be able to land better office work. I'd go with the one that will give you better opportunities in the future.

  7. I'd go for the office job. The training you're getting now can be very valuable in the future. But I would call the other job and let them know you had a prior committment. No sense in ticking them off.

  8. I would go for the picking fruit job.

If it's physical then it's much healthier for you and also you get more pay. Maybe you could set 4 days a week for picking fruit and one day a week at the front desk because then you can learn those important skills.

Also maybe you could try working from home or over the internet. You would then be less stressed and it would be easier.

Hope I helped and good Luck!

    xx
