Two mile race question

im much better at longer distances, but my races are two miles...what types of workouts should i do to get better at two miles?

  1. go on longer runs (3-5 miles) and don't go too fast at first. these longer runs will build up your endurance and therefore help you go faster.

    but try and go a little faster each time.

    also, build up your upper body strength. i need to work on mine, because i could shave a good 15 seconds off my mile time if i had stronger arms.

    it doesn't take too much to build up strength....try doing push-ups or lifting small weights during TV commercials at first.

  2. just work out a track which covers 2 miles, and race it faster and faster each time.  If you can do good on your long distance races, then you will be amazing at 2 mile races...i thin so anyways.
