Two officials of Tennessee Titans’ front office on St. Louis Rams’ radar for GM, coaching positions
The Tennessee Titans have granted permission to the St. Louis Rams to interview two officials from their front office, which are reported to be on the Rams’ radar for their vacant general manager and coaching positions.
Reports have indicated that the Rams’ management has shown interest in speaking to Titans’ vice president of player personnel, Ruston Webster, and vice president operations, Lake Dawson.
The team has sent requests to the Titans management seeking permission for interviewing both officials at the Titans, as potential candidates to their respective vacant management slots.
These requests came in addition to their already granted permission for interviewing Titans former coach, Jeff Fisher, for their coaching position.
The side has already interviewed Fisher but it is not been clear yet if he has been shortlisted on the Rams target list for a prospective coach.
According to the latest reports, the Titans have granted the Rams the permission to interview other two officials as potential candidates to their respective positions.
The St. Louis Rams is among the top five National Football League (NFL) teams who have sacked their managers and coaches following their poor show of performance in the 2011 regular season.
The team is also reported to have interviewed officials from the Atlanta Falcons and a couple of other teams, continuing its search to find a GM and fulltime coach.
The Rams at the lower bottom of the league’s 2011 regular season along with the Indianapolis Colts, have gone straight with reshuffling and hiring along with firing.
Along with the officials from the Falcons, the Colts have interviewed several candidates to fill their general manager post following sacking of their GM Chris Polian a week ago.
It is not clear yet if the Titans are going to relieve their officials given they are taken on board by the Rams as their drive to new hiring comes to its end, expected to be very soon.
Reports in some sections of media have pointed at that the side seeking to rebuild the team in almost all departments, and this is the reason that it is straight to reshuffling its management, with hiring of new managers.
The search for the managers is expected to be narrowed down to more staff to be relieved from the teams’ management in coming days.
It is also being projected that the team is going to reshuffle the team at different positions with hiring of new players and waiving off some of them with the next season on mind.
This includes the signing of a new draft during the next draft season, which starts in April this year.
The Rams were in the race for the top draft prize along with the Colts at one stage, but the loss of last game by the Colts made them eligible for the top draft pick.
