Two out-of-state speeding tickets in a 12 months (Illinois Law)?

First, please refrain from negative comments telling me how irresponsible and whatnot that I am. I know. Lets move past that...

I am 20 years old and a resident of Illinois. I received a speeding ticket earlier this year in Alabama for going 90 mph in a 70. I received a second one yesterday in Iowa, also for going 90 in a 70.

After I received my first ticket, I got a letter in the mail saying if I got another one my license would be suspended. Are there any alternatives at this point to avoid my suspension. Is there anything I can do to get the 2nd violation off my record?

  1. You will be suspended - you get two convictions in 24 months.

In your case, since you mention no option for traffic school - like we have in Illinois - I would contact an attorney and ask this question.  Please read all the documents you received from the officer to make sure you do not have any other options.

  2. No... Be a man and take the punishment! Obviously you didn't learn the first time.
