Two pairs for $69.95?

Question

has anyone ever had the $69.95 deal from americas best (www.twopair.com)?

are the glasses worth anything as far as quality?

are they going to upsell the heck out of me?

just trying to find out what to expect

Ever heard the term "You get what you pay for"?  If you can get two pair for 70 and normally a pair will cost about 200 you do the math.  Its a very cheap quality lens and frame you will get.  If you don't wanna spend alto of money its fine.  Just don't expect to get years of wear outta them cuz its not gonna happen.  GOOD LUCK!

This is how it works.  The only way to make any money (and nobody can stay in business losing money) at this price point is to use very low quality products.  Most people don't realize it but an optical dispensary can purchase low quality optical frames for about $1.00.  And then the optical dispensary can find low quality single vision lenses for about $5.00 a pair.  So you add it up. The optical dispensary you are looking at has an investment of 12 bucks in these glasses.  That's almost a 600% mark up.  I could make LOTS of money marking things up 600%.  And they do to.  

Then why don't I?  Because if I marked up the quality products I use 600%, a pair of glasses would be unbelieveably expensive.  And if I used the quality products they use, no one would come back to me again.  Being a local optometric physician, it is critical that I provide a quality product or my practice would soon cease to exist because I would soon find my patients leaving my practice.  

So why does twopair.com do it?  Because they don't care whether you come back for a second pair or not.  The internet is a HUGE place with millions and millions of people that they only want to fool once.  So you have to ask yourself what type of quality you want in your eye wear.  If you want low quality low price then I would highly recommend twopair.com.  If you want high quality at a respectable mark up then go see a quality doctor with quality products that will be there for you.
