1a)If you are an Obama supporter, do you like John McCain?

1b)If you are a McCain supporter, do you like Senator Obama?

2a) Why do you, or don't you like John McCain? What do you like best about him? What do you dislike most about him?

2b) Why do you, or don't you like Senator Obama? What do you like best about him? What do you dislike most about him?

For the record, I am a McCain supporter, and I really like Senator Obama as a person. I just slightly disagree with his politics, and of course, many of his vehement supporters. (who you can clearly see destroying things at the RNC later.) I like his personality, I feel comfortable when he speaks, I feel like I can trust Senator Obama, and that he cares about my needs. I dislike many of his policies, and that he sometimes lies about what is and isn't achievable.

  1. Im supporting McCain as the best of the two choices.  I felt there were better choices for the nominee but thats what there is.

I admire some things about Obama,  his eloquence at times.  And I admire the fact that he really had to have worked hard in school and got educated.   No matter how critical of his policies I admire the work he put in on the education and efforts there.

I am  confortable with McCains honesty.  I feel he believes what he is saying.  I dont always agree with it but I feel that he is not being deceptive that what he says he is for he is for. And I agree with the majority of his platform  though not all of it.

I am not comfortable with Obamas association with questionable or just downright bad people and denying it or downplaying it.  I agree with very little of his platform.  I see a major effort at redistribution of wealth through his increased taxation.  And thats a road that isnt the right one to go down.

  2. 1a) I used to admire McCain as a person and politician, never much liked him as a person. I despised W. from the start so McCain looked good by comparison in 2000. I admired him for bucking the party on several important issues.

2a) I've turned totally against McCain as he has sold his soul to win the nomination. Now he's gung-ho for the tax cuts he opposed a few years ago, for example. His abandonment of the anti-torture movement was the real killer for me. Politicians will shift with the winds on taxes, but as a torture victim this issue had to be close to his heart, and to flip-flop on that represented a profound sell-out of his values.

2b) I agree with Obama on the issues, and that's what matters most to me. I think his rhetoric about changing politics is naive and he's promising too much. This mess we're in won't be fixed any time soon.

  3. 1a and 2a) Senator McCain seems likable enough, but I despise George W. Bush, and those two seem like carbon-copies to me.

2b) The only thing I question about Sen. Obama is where the money is supposed to come from for all his grandiose plans.

  4. I'm voting for Obama, but I do like Mccain, I just don't agree with him policies, that's all.  Actually he won me over when he was on SNL, he's pretty funny, and then he called that report and ***hole, and you gotta love him for that.  Obama, too bad just isn't as funny.  I hope he will get better though.  As far as the things I don't like about Mccain; the way he handled his 1st divorce and that he hugged George Bush after Bush cronies dragged him through the mud.  Obama I like in just about everyway, because I feel he is more in touch with what america needs...he was a 'regular' person before he became a politician, while Mccain has always been around the military, which is a pretty closed group, although likeable. (dear god don't let me offend anyone!! Ha ha ha)

  5. 1a and 2a) I used to like McCain, and if our only point of contention was the war I'd vote for him, but it's so much more than that. The guy sold his soul to get this nomination. His voting record around 2002 and on was horrible. In general, spending and not paying for it, and specifically voting AGAINST: 2 bills to modernize reserve and national guard equipment to regular army standards, 6 (although there's overlap) bills to expand veteran healthcare, and recently to update the GI Bill to the cost of today's college educations. I know it's cliche to say this, but before that I'd didn't even think of him as a republican. I think of him as a maverick either, I just thought he was a pragmatist.

2b) I don't think people understand that it's not what Obama wants but what we want. He doesn't want to be the evermore frightening executive monarch that the presidency has become. He is mobilizing people to actually be involved in how the country is run again to make the government more accountable. He wants to change the government into one that reflects the will of the people, not one that fleeces the middle class and shouts rhetoric about the trickle down theory and then tries to shame everyone into swallowing it for "patriotism."

    [/end libertarian rant]

  6. I am a McCain Supporter. Compared to Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and other hateful race baiting black leaders Obama is a saint and I like him very much.

In general he is just another full of c**p politician that will say or do anything to get elected. Much like 90% of Republicans and Democrats.
