Two players get sponsor's exemption for Kia Classic
The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Kia Classic golf tournament has given sponsor’s exemption to two rising players in a bid to bring more fun to the event.
Ha Neul Kim of South Korea and Melissa Reid of England, who were given sponsor’s exemption by the Kia Classic, have vowed to do their best at the La Costa Resort.
The event is going to be played from March 22nd to 25th at the La Costa Golf Course. They said that both players have made plans to make the most of this opportunity.
Young Kim, who is best known for her outstanding performance on the Korean LPGA, is a good pick, according to observers and experts.
Kim is just 23 years old and has done pretty well in most of the events she has played so far
Kim will have to face a strong field comprising fearsome players, who are poised to overrun their rivals. Experts said that playing in the rich field will help Kim hone her putting skills.
On the other hand, Reid is also expected to keep in mind the seriousness of the Kia Classic.
The 24-year-old Reid has recorded a stunning performance on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit last year.
She was amazing with her putts, making strokes that helped her gain a strong position. He finished second in the event.
Kia Classic Tournament Director Dennis Baggett expressed his confidence in the field of the Kia Classic, saying that he hopes that the event is going to stage a tough and interesting battle among players.
He said that the inclusion of Ha Neul Kim and Melissa Reid will spice up the tournament, as Kia Classic has done it in the past as well.
Hee Kyung Seo of South Korea was a lucky player who received the sponsor’s exemption two years back and capitalised on the opportunity.
“The LPGA has always embraced the international flavour of women’s golf, and the selection of Ha Neul Kim and Melissa Reid as exemptions into our tournament further solidifies the notion that the Kia Classic and San Diego County will showcase the strongest
field in women’s golf to date in 2012,” Baggett said.
