Two questions about braces...?

Question

How long after the procedure will the biting pain go away?

If you've had braces before, how often have your brackets popped off?

My orthodontist was the best because I had minimal pain.  And, even with that pain it only last 3-5 days.  Try taking some pain relievers (OTC type)  Also, I've never had any of my brackets pop off.  Just be very careful what type of foods you drink and eat. And, clean your teeth thoroughly, its a pain in the a** BUT its WORTH IT!!  I know from experience because I ate a lot of junk food as a teenager that stained my teeth like soda, and when I had my braces taken off my teeth were straight but completely stained!! Its typical to have bracket stains, but mine were beneath the surface and I needed bonding on some.  It was a B*tch...But, if you follow what the doctors say you should be fine.  Good luck.

For me, the pain lasted a few days. It kind of turned into a dull ache after a while. Pain relievers made it not so bad. Also, only one of my brackets ever came off. And it wasn't even my fault - the hygienist pulled it off while she was cleaning my teeth. As long as you're careful and don't eat things that the orthodontist tells you not to, you should be okay.
