First,What democratic society could get away with spending US$44 billion of taxpayer money on the Olympics...., Second, what democratic society could get away with spending US$466 billion of taxpayer money on the invasion of Iraq.....

Tax payers money is supposed to pay for our military actions. It should not, however pay for illegal immigration (as in helping them), drinks for politicians at conventions, gifts from politicians to their special interest buddies, foreignn aid, subsidies to corporations, universal health care, welfare for people who can work, congressman who fail to vote, advertisements for fighting global warming (as it is not man made and less than 50% of the science community supports the view that it is), and the list goes on.
