Two reasons why Barcelona should be positive about the El Clasico clash
The Catalan Giants are going to be facing their “arch nemesis” Real Madrid today in a Spanish La Liga clash which is known as the “el Clasico.” Josep Guardiola’s side are probably the only side that can stop the Los Blancos as they are still unbeaten even
after nineteen games and they have only drawn two games. However, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and the newly signed David Villa, the Catalan giants have been a pretty unstoppable force as well and this season has been Guardiola’s
best start ever.
When the Blaugrana wearing side are going to face the Los Blancos in their home ground the Nou Camp, they have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the game and following are the two reasons why they should be:
Guardiola has never lost to a major team in the Spanish La Liga. The Spanish coach has only managed to be at the end of a “major upset” as he has suffered defeats against teams like Espanyol, who were at the bottom of the table, Osasuna, who were facing
relegations and Hercules who were recently promoted in the Primera Liga. This is going to be a confidence boost for the Barcelona fans as Guardiola seems to be prepared against bigger oppositions.
One more thing that might help the Catalan side cool down a bit is the fact that the Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo has faced Barcelona five times and has never found the net against them. While he was a part of the English club Manchester United,
Cristiano Ronaldo came head to head with Barcelona three times and once it was during the final of the UEFA Champions League in Rome, during his run in the Premier League he never found the net against Barcelona and when he joined the Los Blancos, he faced
the Blaugrana wearing side two times and he is still to find a goal against them.
The Portuguese captain is currently in extra ordinary form and he looks to be in direct competition with the Argentinean maestro Lionel Messi who is also in great goal scoring form for Barcelona. However, one of them are given the responsibility to score
today because they are both in great goal scoring form and with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a goal it is going to be the first time ever that he is going to score against Barcelona; however, with Lionel Messi scoring a goal against Real Madrid today, the Argentinean
is going to score a goal against a side under Mourinho for the first time.
