A couple days ago my Xbox 360, production date 10/31/07, shut off while playing a game and lit up two red lights in the two left side quadrants. I did the research and found out it means its overheating and shuts down as a preventative measure. Obviously it isn't the red rings of death as my system will still start but will shut down after a couple of minutes.
I tried what Microsoft suggests and made sure it was getting plenty of circulation; I actually took a fan and put it on the fastest speed blowing right into the top vents, but to no success. I've also attempted to blow any built up dust out of it but there was none. An interesting note is that it'll start out fairly quite and get increasing louder due to the fans speeding up to try and cool it, obviously something internal is not functioning properly.
Anyways I'm confused to whether or not this would be covered under my warranty, I registered my 360 and it says my warranty is good until sometime in January. I know plenty of others have had this issue so does anyone have any sort of device?
