Two rings and off phone help?

well i rang the phone people and they say nothing wrong with the phone line, but the ring only happens two times then it goes to the answer machine

U have to set your answering machine to answer the call after 5 or 6 rings if the phone company ran a test on your line and found nothing wrong with it. However if after 2 rings it goes into busy and your voice mail is picking up, u might have a short circuit on your line. not sure what kind of a/m you have but with an older one i had you could adjust the ring time through that. if you have an instruction book for the a/m have a browse through that

The answering machine (or voice mail) is the problem.

This is not typically a phone line problem.

Your user manual for your answering machine will explain how to reconfigure the "number of rings before pickup".

Otherwise, if your service provider is providing "voice mail" type answering service, then their service should have instructions of how to set the voice mail "number of rings" before routing the call to voice mail.
