Two teens and a week in Quebec city?

My friend and I are going to be in Quebec City for a week this summer. We will both be 17. We are both history nuts, adore music/theatre and speak French almost fluently.

I was wondering what attractions in the area you would recommend we go visit. This can include malls, historic sites, universities, theatres, galleries: anything you think two teenage girls would enjoy. Price doesn't matter at the moment, we discuss that later.

We are staying at a hotel in Old Quebec and will be travelling mostly by bus or walking, although my parents, who will be in Quebec with us, have a car we can use - if we go with them.

As well, are there any cute little restaurants or cafés in the area that you would recommend?

This year is Quebec City's foundation 400th birthday wich means Quebec City is home for many events.

The most interesting for history & art fans is probably "Le Louvre à Québec". The word's largest museum of paris borrowed to Quebec City about 270 centuries-old "oeuvres d'art" to be exposed at our local museum on Plaines d'Abraham, opened all summer. Tickets cost 15$ each - you save a trip to Paris!

For music/theater, there will be a special Celine Dion show on August 22nd on Plaines d'Abraham. Tickets are free but there are only 100000 of them, so it's very hard for local citizens to get some of them. I know that some of them are reserved for tourists and will be available at the tourist offices.

You'll find ineresting restaurants and cafés in the old Petit-Champlain district just in front of the ferry boat. You can also climb to the upper town, visit the "Vieux-Quebec" district, then do a circle walk from the Chateau Frontenac on St-Jean, Cartier and Grande-Allée streets. These are the most popular "in" places. A walk on St. Joseph street in St-Roch district is also interesting.

For shopping take the high-frequency bus line 800/801 to Ste-Foy, 20 minutes later you'll get 3 big shopping centers together: Place Laurier, Place de la Cité and Place Ste-Foy. You'll cross Laval University on your way.

If you have a car, a day at Village Vacances Valcartier Waterpark at St-Gabriel-de-Valcartier in the north suburbs can be very intersting for you...
