yeah i ride a slightly directional board, will moving my bindings forward a little make riding in switch easier, i saw that eero niemela does it and wondered if it was a slightly good idea. also its the end of the season, and i'm dpressed. I look out at my mini terrain park in the backyard and it kills me inside. during the summer months i golf a ton but is there anything to keep my mind satisfied and off snowboarding, besides longboarding, which i do. i don't want to spend much money.

  1. Yes, a more centered stance will make switch riding easier.  That said, you don't need to center the stance to ride switch well.

As for the summer... don't stop thinking about snowboarding.  Let the dream live all year long.  Use it to motivate your workouts so that you are in prime shape when winter arrives.  Plan what you will work n next season, make a list of tricks that you want to master and how you can work towards them.  If you want some substitute thrills try windsurfing, kite-surfing, or wakeboarding.  All expensive to get into but great fun... still not as good as snowboarding!

  2. Centering your stance would help ...and for the summer problem go to a local hockey arena and they usually have snow out back and just load it into your truck or car if your willing to get the trunck a bit wet but with a pick-up you dont have that problem but anyway get back to your house and dump the snow in your backyard and set up a backyard summer sesh with maybe a small kicker and a homemade box:)

  3. yeah man i hear you.

i look outside and see no snow, it tears my heart apart. and to make matters worse, i may be moving to florida. i dont know how im going to live without boarding, i went almost every weekend with my friend/s. i also golf during the summer time and looking to get a freeboard/longboard and take that up.

as for the binding setup you are right.

i will be watching this cause i need ideas too.

  4. the more centered your stance, the easier it will be to ride switch.
