Two way battle between Andalieb and Henry Allingham expected in Lonetree Ltd McDonalds Handicap
A tough battle of horseracing is expected in the Lonetree Ltd McDonalds Handicap at Ffos Las in England on Monday, July 2, 2012. The winner of the class-4 event will be awarded a cash prize of £4,075.
There are a few very good runners lined up for action in the 1 mile event, which will start at 20:25 GMT. The ground will be soft and there are at least three participants, who perform at such conditions.
One of those runners is Andalieb, who is eludes the winning momentum right now and has been given a starting price of 11 to 4 by the bookies today. He does not have a good strike rate, but has given some decent performances since making debut in August 2011.
The three-year-old colt struggled at the start of his career, but ended his first season on a high, securing a couple of back to back runner up positions. He has only participated in a couple of races this year and managed to win the most recent one.
The David Simcock’s trainee was not rated as the favourite back then, but he looked quite strong on the soft ground at Doncaster. He started off slowly, but quickened towards the end and gained an overall lead of two lengths and one quarter over the runner up.
A similar race will definitely ensure another victory for Andalieb, who will be partnered by Martin Lane in the race today.
There are equally good chances for Henry Allingham to claim the Lonetree Ltd McDonalds Handicap, as he is also in decent form. He has participated in just three races and performed well in all of them.
The three-year-old gelding won his most recent race by four lengths, which shows that he has a terrific momentum right now. In his only other outing this year, he secured the runner up position.
The Roger Varian’s trainee made his debut in 2011 and he only took part in a single race back then. His performance in it was not bad at all, as he finished fourth overall. He will be ridden by seasoned jockey, Andrea Atzeni, who has won numerous races at a decent strike rate and will be looking forward to another strong show today.
