Two-way competition on the cards in Liberty Insurance Novice Hurdle
A two-way battle between Our Vinnie and Pride Ofthe Parish is expected in the Liberty Insurance Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) at Limerick in Ireland on Friday, December 28, 2012. Both runners are extremely talented and will spice up things in the all important contest, which is scheduled to kick off at 13:35 GMT.
The latter of the above two runners has been given better odds for victory, as he will like the track conditions today. There has been plenty of rain overnight, which has left the ground as heavy.
Furthermore, there is still a chance of more showers, which will not make things easy for the organisers at Limerick. They will have to hold an inspection before making a final call on the race.
No matter what the conditions are, the participants seem to be ready for action. They will have to be brave to compete over 3 miles on a wet ground. Therefore, their fitness will be tested to the limit.
However, that will still not be a big concern for the entrants, as they have got an opportunity to bag €18,525 from the race today. Moreover, it will be a great achievement for anyone who wins this graded encounter.
According to the bookmakers, the best chances of victory are with Pride Ofthe Parish, who has been priced 4 to 5 today. He does not have a lot of experience, but his talent cannot be doubted at all.
The eight-year-old gelding started off his career with a race at Limerick and he managed to succeed in it comfortably. He has got some fond memories from this ground and will be looking to make his team proud yet again.
Overall, he has appeared in a couple of hurdles, winning one of them whereas finished as a runner up in the other one.
On the other hand, Our Vinnie has also got a pretty decent record in rain affected races. Therefore, he has been given a general starting price of 13 to 8 and the punters will be interested in gambling some money on him too.
The C. Byrnes’ trainee is a decent jumper and will not be an easy opponent. He was victorious in his previous race, so his confidence level will be good.
